Price of beef has continued to rise. Was at Grocery store last week and a pound of ground beef was just under $5. ..... noticed they had something NEW... Was a combo of pork and beef and price was maybe $2.75 a pound ( ground)..

I bought a couple and forgot about it.. Asked wife tonight and she said she used it in the Tacos and Spaghetti we had last week........... I never noticed the difference...

My mom loved pork burgers and frankly, I did too. Now days I prefer my ground pork to have sausage seasoning in it. Have a good supply of ground venison around here so I don't worry too much about the price of ground beef. My steak consumption has decreased in recent years, a lot. Been buying half pork loins for $1.79/pound lately. Be nice when it warms up and I can smoke one!

Steve ........................Ermm....................Something about seeing title on this trigged  Confused oh no Freegas is back.Wink Thankfully must be waiting for the train to pass so he can get to his fishy sammies.

But then I looked again.Smile Not him................OK

Yes western deer burger benefits from the addition of fat. You mid west guys that have corn fed deer may not get the same benefits.

My son adds bulk sausage to the burger when making meat loaf.  So my wife will not make meat loaf anymore, as his is so much better than hers even putting in the same sausage, she says. He eats dinner here 3 to 5 nights a week, so he cooks here on the 2 days she works.

Pork burgers are something I miss about Illinois/Indiana. They were common at FFA, 4-H, fire department, etc. fundraisers. People in KS/OK look at me like I've been hit in the head when I tell them pork burgers exist.

I will say the Illinois Pork Producers Association did a pretty good job of promoting them, so that may be the difference.

Illinois Pork Producers Association has a tent every year at the state fair in Springfield. Must have a Pork burger or a Pork chop on a stick. I make some Cranberry Orange Barbecue Meatballs for Super Bowl each year. Pork, beef ,venison or elk mixture. Same with meatloaf, great flavor and texture.

Years ago, I was at an event and the KS Pork Producers were grilling pork burgers.  I don't know if they are still doing that as a promotion.  There is only one lesser-known fast food place in the greater KC area that serves them.  I haven't thought about them for a long time but may have to give it a try.  Closest thing is sausage and that's not the same.

We find them every so often in a local store called bratwurst burgers.  They are awesome.
