My 8030 has developed a micro stutter, I thought it was missing but its more like a micro second shutoff. I cracked each injector they all shut the cylinder down. I couldn't tell if it was still doing it when each cylinder was shutdown. I suspect maybe sucking air somewhere? Any suggestions where to look? Thanks

1200 to 1500 RPM ?? sounds like typical 8000 series governor quiver.

power shift? very light loads? Did you just replace any fuel supply hoses?

Yes we just serviced it and changed the fuel filter. This stutter is with no load and is more noticeable at higher rpms. My brother did the service and thought it was stuttering before. It was not doing it last fall. Hey Ed you rebuilt the pump on my 8050 last year and just letting you know it has never run better!! Thanks!

These were kinda known for the "flutter" that can be very difficult to cure without killing the sensitivity of the governor. Many times people replace the fuel hoses with hydraulic hose and it's too stiff, not as common on the AC as the IH, but same problem results. The hose from the final filter to the hyd head is supposed to be a special soft hose to act as an accumulator to dampen pulses from the transfer pump. Find a gear that gets the rpms out of that range.

I have the proper hoses the one from the final filter to the head is now over 250.00 and the elbow also has to be changed, I am doing that tomorrow on the 8050 as it has sprung a leak. I now have to find that special elbow fitting to match the new hose. I delt with the flutter a few years ago on the 30 after having the pump rebuilt by our AGCO dealer. It is possible that it needs adjusted again but it doesn't quite sound like that. I blead the system again today but it is still doing that micro flutter. Thanks for the advice, Ill keep at it.

Wow, $250 for that hose?! Bought one for my combine last fall, (Red), think it was $50-60, in that range. Haven't got it put on yet but haven't planted the crops yet either.

Yep I thought it was a mistake but that's what it cost plus the new elbow is 35.00 ordered it yesterday. I might ask them to check that price again when I pickup the elbow. Mostly I am thankful that we can get parts for forty year old machines.

Make sure they didn't replace them with a braided steel hyd hose, it will be too rigid. You could have probably ordered all pushloc hose and fittings for it and made it yourself. Keep in mind if it acts funny after replacement, you'll know what caused it. Hopefully it's made the correct way, soft and pliable. I wonder if these hoses get old and harder if that can cause the pump to cause a "flutter" similar to how a hyd hose affects them.
