Have a nice 6060 with cab that I installed LED lights. Have a lot of interference with the original factory radio when the LED lights are on. I have them wired to the flood/field wiring harness. Any advice how to stop the interference? Thank#

Call Steve at B&B custom circuits, he has the fix. Talked to him about my LED’s on my XT.

Yup! Common problem with LED's. LED's cause an EMI issue with radio waves. (electromagnetic interference) The more LED's you have, the more the EMI. You need to install what is known as a Ferrite bead. It's a little gizmo that wraps around the power source circuit (Ferrite) and basically its a high frequency filter to filter the EMI's produced by the LED's. Sometimes I've installed two or more on a circuit to eliminate the annoying noise. These things come in different wire sizes, so if your circuit to the lights is 14 gauge, you'll obviously need a 14 gauge Ferrite bead. I used them in our Hotrod customer's cars when I have one in the outside wire shop that I'm wiring, and they have a big boom boom stereo in there. LED Headlights when installed, cause a lot of the EMI's. The musclecar guys and Hotrodders like the LED's for Headlights and Tailights especially for night driving coming back from a show, but they don't like a high dollar noisy stereo. Radio Shack or a stereo installer should have em' in stock.... HTH

Steve, On my 190 I installed a new factory light switch. Added flashers on each fender and tractor already had LED headlights on it. Flashers worked at first but quickly started flashing double or triple speed. I’m assuming this is the same issue? Would the ferrite go on the wire to the flashers or the power wire to the switch? Thank you

Mike, You probably just need an electronic flasher to replace the standard flasher. LED lamps draw a lot less power than incandescent bulbs which can cause a standard flasher to malfunction and make the LED lamps flash rapidly or multiple times. (better known to us Automotive electrical dudes as hyperflash) A lot of the electronic flashers are usually square instead of round like the old style flashers. Although, I stock a HD round flasher made by a company called Tridon. This particular flasher I sell to our Trucker/Industrial customers because they will handle up to 16 lights. They ain't $2.50 though. They run around $14. bucks each.... LOL! Steve@B&B
