AC WD45 What an excellent request, which would be very interesting viewing for Members. I remember our 1957 D17 arriving shinny and new and our WD 45 departing as a trade in on the deal. Later it was a D15 II in 1967 and a 185 in 1975. All tractors were delivered to our farm by the Dealer. I don't know the delivery mode to the Dealer. Here is an artist rendering of some beautiful Allis Chalmers tractors at a siding in Town on a Flatcar ready for Dealer/Customer pickup. I have it hanging in my garage! The picture was Allis Chalmers ad in a farm publication, probably in the mid/late sixties. I purchased the picture from an eBay supplier, who probably clipped it out of the magazine The picture is on page 91/92 of "AC Tractor Ads 1957-1985", by Tim Putt ( an excellent publication) This is the best I can do, but it would sure be great to see some real photo's  ------------- 1963 D17D Series III. 1965 D15 Series II. 1965 D17 Series IV. 1975 185. 1978 716H. 1979 716H. 1965 780 Harvester/1R&DC. 1957 Model 73 SC 4 Furrow Plow |

I would hope that Bill Long would see this thread..... He has a lot of pics and a LONG memory on these tractors. Hopefully he'll see it. He was on here a month ago.  Dad wishes my grandfather took more pictures. Said when he was a kid they would go to the local train crossing where there used to be a small station with dock. Unload the new Allis Chalmers tractors and drove them back to his dealership for himself and other area dealers to pick up.

Interesting, the first picture, an Artist Concept. The D-15 and D-17 production ended in 1967. The 190 production didn't start until 3 years later - 1970. The Farm Publication could not be mid to late 60's, but only after 1970. But still a Great Picture. G |

I am supprised they didnt continue to make either the D15 or the D17 for a few more years as a "smaller" tractor..

Interestingly, In the photo of the Hanley dealership, there is a Gleaner T which was last built in 1954. ------------- Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed |

| Good question. But I don't have the answer. I thought the Fordson Major and Dexta were built in England and imported here. Others I think were built in the United States. Hopefully someone will give us some more info. |

I have heard that as well. Parts for Ford Major have been hard to get for 30 maybe 40 years here in North America. Got in a discussion with someone in the UK, they claimed everything you could want was available there.
