I'm not aware of the need for resistor plugs with the Petronix ignitions. However think about this; A non-resistor plug will fire as soon as the voltage needed to jump the gap is reached, this could be high or low depending on what else is going on inside of the engine at any given time. A resistor plug must reach a specified voltage regardless of whatever is going on inside of the engine, thereby have a more precise control on ignition timing. If your considering what plugs to get for the puller you are building, I personally would use resistor plugs. Other opinions may vary.
The only reason I use non-resistor plugs is with magnetos.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Resistor plugs not needed. Just the wires as per Pertronix.
