Hi, I noticed you a lot of knowledge about the hd5 transmission from another thread. I am wondering if you have the bearing numbers or specs for input and output bearings for the transmission. I am also wondering if you know of any good parts sources please let me know. Thanks.

All the parts can be matched as bearings that can be found in open market that are used on AC machines - well almost - the Link-Belt bearings on outboard axle are not common nor are the cone bearing used on front idlers .
I would need to check my books to see if i wrote numbers down , but as I had access to good suppliers - most times i just gave them the sizes and bearings showed up the next day .
Input was easy to find - the output end is a double row radial bearing (and kind of expensive) last one I replaced I got from a customer I serviced who rebuilt clutches and transmissions - believe it was around $150 back then .

It has been well over 20 years since I put all new bearing in my HD 5 transmission, but all bearings came from bearing supply house. I don't remember needing anything but shifter linkage from Allis Chalmers parts.

Top machine in its day!  A real workhorse.  Imagine if it was updated to today's standard!

Thanks for posting, rather than the quick clip I expected, it's almost like a short feature film!  I guess they had a decent promotional budget so they could stretch to a 15 minute advert. Smile
