It's 1.5 - 2 hours from me, I will try to go to the open house and get a few pic's. 9/14/2024, 10am - 2pm. Most of what I'm interested in will be out of my price range but I can still go look. | George has been a long-time member of the Pierce Old Time Threshers Bee. Our show this year is featuring Allis-Chalmers and is on the same weekend as the open house. So come to Pierce and be prepared for a lot of orange! There will be a tractor drive September 13th that leaves from the fairgrounds in Pierce and will travel to the sale site. Unbelievable collection. Can’t even begin to think how much money is setting in that building. Really nice collection. | In regard to the CA Tractor Raffle. The Pierce Old Time Threshers Bee has a tractor raffle each year as a way to help finance our show. This year will be the 47th annual. There is no admission charge to attend. This year the raffle tractor is a 1951 CA Allis-Chalmers that we purchased from George, it was one that he had restored previously. 10 D21’s just makes me mad exact reason why they run 30k plus. Guys like this were greedy and cornering the market does someone really need 10 D21’s? Theres another hot shot family out west that has sheds full as well. Not impressed one bit. ------------- ALLIS CHALMERS "The color is orange" |

So I guess you would have preferred these 10 D21's had gone to the scrappers? Because that's where they were headed when Mr. Prince found them. Most of these tractors, where sitting in tree lines, rusting away. He brought them home, and painstakingly brought them back to life and restored them. Second, I was told his intentions were to be able to give each of the kids one. Not all of the kids wanted one.

| Very Interesting reply - I bought my D21 in 1995,, it was setting way back in a dealer lot in Bowling Green MO,, called about it, said it was there for 2 years,, wanted $5000,, told them Id take it if they would deliver it to Linn , he was excited to move it-- there was a time you could buy these tractors dirt cheap- Im sure thats what this guy did |

I am glad there are people able save, and restore a lot this vintage of equipment, regardless of the brand/color. What has bewildered me is; how they have so much disposable income to do it. A lot of us didn’t have the resources to even go out on our own farming, let alone be able to have ‘collections’. ------------- I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science. |

Back 25 years or so ago my friend had like 15 or 17 or so D21’s. He said no one else were buying them at little auctions as they were too big of a tractor for around here. He had a permanent bidding number at MacFaddens Auction of ‘21’. I asked why keep buying them and he said he would quit when he got to 21. Back before I started collecting allis stuff, and had no idea that I ever would, I could have bought a half dozen good running D 21's for 800 to 1200 bucks. Looking back, it would have been a way better investment to buy them then spending the money in the bars like I did. Darrel |
