The long control rod was damaged by various logging accidents. I've not quite got it restored to the correct bends/lengths. The main symptom is that it doesn't cover the full range of detents whether I adjust it for accurate low end or accurate high end. It stops short (fullish throttle) at the 4th detent from end if adjusted for low (idle) end control. Is there a specification/description somewhere of how to bend this back to the correct shape? how many bends it has should not matter.. but bends change the total LENGTH of the rod... set throttle to WIDE OPEN... rotate governor arm to WIDE OPEN... adjust the rod to fit this... you SHOULD get low idle using this procedure. ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

With the rod as-is, if I do this then the handle will not go below detent number 4. There's a sort of lever arm length disagreement somewhere. ------------- 1952 CA13092 |

yea... the ROD LENGTH should not effect this... the LEVER ARM length will... but i dont know of any way to change that unless there are differnt HOLES for the rod to attach to ? ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

I only see one set of holes, one on each end. Maybe there's an adjustment I've missed but as I remember it, there's only one way to assemble it. ------------- 1952 CA13092 |

Had a look at my CA on the fence line. I measured 1 1/2" from end of Rod to edge of clamp at Lever. As far as bends, the Rod appears to be straight from the Lever to just above the rear of the Starter. Then it has a slight bend upwards and continues along horizontally towards the Governor. G |

Hopefully that will correct it. As it is, it has multiple curved sections. It should be easy enough to straighten it into just two straight sections. I noticed on the B rod though that it has a crook upwards at the end to raise it up to the governor control. I don't see that on my CA rod. ------------- 1952 CA13092 |
