I have not had my 54 wd45 for long so I am still learning.  Have only had Ford 8N's in the past.  What is the procedure for replacing the belts?  I have an idea, but would rather learn from those who have already done it.  Thanks!

The long and the short of it is that the 5.5" hose that connects the lower radiator outlet with the water pump has to be removed. If the hose is very old and deteriorated you can cut it and remove it. What you must be very careful with is to not put excessive pressure on the lower 'spout' of the radiator during removal and installation of that short radiator hose. If the short hose is very pliable you can slide it down as far as possible and then squeeze the other end into place. If your short rad hose is too stiff you risk doing damage to that lower radiator spout. If you're going about it the way I described above you need to stick a form of support under this spout. I had a new radiator at one point and while I was contorting the stub of hose in place the lower rad spout sustained a tiny fracture in the solder joint to the lower tank on the rad. I have done the above procedure safely more than once but it has its risks. The safer but more laborious way for the belt change is to unbolt the water pump and pull it up out of the rad hose. To do that without any scratching up of the radiator from the fan blades, the fan should be unbolted and if those bolts are nearly seized from age you have a new challenge on hand as the room between the rad and the fan is tight. 
Once the new belt is in place, be sure that the range for adjustment is good before all the re-assembly as there is not much tolerance even if the belt is out by half an inch either way.
I apologize that this explanation is long but it's the best I can offer. LOL

Cut old hose and replace with new....much quicker and easier...not expensive.
