Probably designed after WWII by laid off aeronautical engineer, since war had ended. Enabled the hay to fly through the baler.

I always wondered if that was just "the times" for styling departments at American companies during this period. Maybe the AC styling department was told "we need a roof over this thing to keep water off, and here's a few bucks to make it look cool" and this was the result during the post-WWII air boom era. Well, you see here, after the whole roto baler was designed except for roof, the engineer and his "wing" man, were "flying" by the seat of their pants to come up with a design.... Darrel |
