I've an HD6 with a very hard to pull main clutch. It functions once pulled but to engage and disengage it takes much more than the 25-30 lbs the manual says. In reading the manual I see nothing dealing with this. It only deals with a loose clutch engagement. Any one able to point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
RW

Thank you! I'll try that and see if that cures it.

There is also a possibility that the line/tubing/whatever connecting the grease fitting to the
clutch shaft sleeve inside is damaged or broken and the grease hasn't been getting to the sleeve. It may be worth a look inside the inspection plate.

Also hard to engage if it is adjusted to tight. But lubricate the linkage and sleeves as the others advised first.

Lube the sleeve and also you might have to back the cultch off a notch or so , lube the ever pivot also . I had to rebuild mine and made a new brass sleeve for throw out bearing .
One thing is do not idle machine while in gear , only in neutral and clutch engaged as it will wear the sleeve .

Thank you.
I don't idle it in gear or with the clutch engaged. I'll start leaving the clutch engaged if that's better on things.

Idle in neutral  , clutch engaged for longer life .
I put a ceramic clutch disc in my HD5 so  little or no slip now on clutch
