Hello & its been a long time since I've been on the site. Sufficie to say life has been in the way of Allis Time. Still have my D-14 although its seeing more of the shed than the outdoors. Any way close to home is an Allis 6140 for sale. From what I've been told they are diesel, 40 Hp and rear wheel drive built in the early 80's.  Can anyone share any additional information on this tractor, strong points , weak points what to look for ect.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

I know NOTHING about the 614o except that everyone says they are about impossible to find parts for them.

Built in Japan for AC by a company that no longer exists.  I don't think too many were sold.  As mentioned above, parts are nearly impossible to find.

Thanks everyone. The online pictures of this tractor are clean, low hours  & it appears to have not been abused. The responses however aren't infavor of spending what the seller is asking.

Doesn't matter how clean it looks.  Eventually it is going to need parts, and you will be pulling your hair out.

Get a 170 instead.  About 15 more horsepower, but parts are everywhere and easy to find.

I have several compacts that are in the same boat parts wise including a MF 220 made by the same company as the 6140,so far so good but I bought them at bargain prices.I'd buy a 6140 at the right price then start looking for a parts tractor.

It is a $6,500 tractor due to parts as stated. There are some Toyosha parts out there - souther global - we overhauled one this year - about 6 grand... 45 days waiting for parts. It was a great tractor - syncro tranny even reverse - wet brakes - engine start below 0 independent PTO  When new it was ez to sell as the best 40 HP on the market. The first series had a wobble front end shimmy issue that was fixed by thrust washers on the pivor - the later hydrostatic  units were much better.  We sold around 30 of them. No reoccuring issues - water in the hyd oil will swell the brakes.
