Not Allis, but can't find good information so thought I'd ask here. Need a new battery for my 350 Honda Rancher ATV. Old battery says GTX14-BS. Looking online, don't find that one, but see them that say YTX14-BS. Any idea what these letters/numbers mean or indicate? Will the YTX14-BS work rather than the GTX14-BS. Quite a difference in price for one on Amazon compared with the local Bomgaars, so wonder if I can go with the YTX one. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Dave

Different manufacturer... basically the same physical size battery and interchangeable on ATVS.. I think the Y is a 240 CCA battery and the G is a 200..

What does YTX mean on a battery? References starting with these prefixes are Maintenance-free AGM batteries. The first letter generally identifies the manufacturer (Y = Yuasa, E= Exide, F= Fiamm ou Fulbat…). E.g. Meaning of the battery number “YTX7L-BS”: "YT": Manufacturer reference. Thanks, Steve. That kinda helps to understand. I found this one on Amazon and it says it will work for the Honda Rancher I have. ii normally look for the "4 star rating".... That battery has 1000 customer comments and 85% are 4 or 5 star..... That should give you some confidence.. ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

| Just know there is big price difference between AGM and lead acid but the AGM is a better buy. |

AGM batteries are called "sealed and maintenance free"... as compared to the old standard batteries that you added water to the "lead -acid" thru the removable caps. In theory the AGM batteries last 6-8 years and the Lead -acid last 3-5 years... Of course a lot of that depends on how you maintain them , proper charge , winter storage, etc... ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |
