good morning Allis Family. Have run into serious health problems this past week and prayers needed. Felt bad past weekend but no real problems. Monday morning it set in big time. Was having problems breathing, short of breath and then noticed swelling in legs, feet. Finally got in contact with doctor and he sent me to emergency room Tuesday morning. Gave all my symptoms and they did CT scan of heart, also a scan using proceedure to photo heart. They determined I am in early stage of Congestive heart failure. Were going to do heart catheterization. Then checked blood samples, found many problems with blood make up. Low platelets, low red and white blood cell counts. Did not want to do heart catheterization until had answers. After three days, finally did a bone marrow sample which they have forwarded to blood doctor. Have to wait on his results to find out what steps to take next. They are using some medications and diet to help control heart right now but know there is a problem in at least one heart valve not pumping correctly. At this moment, I think it's somewhat under control but tire with walking 100 feet, shortness of breath, etc. Guess we should all pay more attention to subtle changes that we normally contribute to just having a hard day, getting older or any other excuse we assign. Bob, So sorry to hear this situation you have. Dad had the same thing in his late 70's and the Doc's took good care of him and he bounced back. It was a while till he got back in shape and feeling his good ole' self again, but he went to 97 years young before he passed. Today, they even have more cool stuff to get you back on yer' feet even faster! Keep the faith, stay strong, and get through it. You're tough!! Prayers from New Joisey! Hoping for your speedy recovery Bob, enjoy your posts regardless of what forum they are in. Be proactive with your Doctor, don’t be afraid to ask questions, and hold his/her feet to the fire, remember the Doc works for you. ------------- I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. Bob, I’m so sorry to hear about your new health challenges. Within the past month my wife was diagnosed with exactly the same affliction. We’ll meet with a specialist next month to see how to proceed. By chance have you ever had Covid or been vaccinated for the same? Steve, Thanks for the post. Hopefully, my results will equal your Dad's. It is a little scary when you don't know the outcome of the test, whether it will show anything and what they might do to fight it. | Bob, I've sent prayers for you. Two years ago I had a similar problem. Mine turned out to be a bad Mitral valve and needed a single bypass. Had it done and after a relative quick recovery I feel great. Hope it is the same for you |

Still fighting it guys. Have appointment on 13th to see what they're going to do about blood problem. Then see heart specialist to fix heart. Time sure seems to be dragging. | Prayers from east central Illinois missed you at the half century show. Bone marrow biopsied are not fun I had 2 in 6 months had hairy cell leukemia and hopefully in November when I have my yearly follow-up it will be 8 years cancer free |
