Mr dixon, did you ever use that pull type combine with the corn head? The combine itself looks beyond repair but if it was complete, it might be worth cutting up the combine just to get it on the trailer. It is my understanding there are about 20 extra parts to make the corn head work. And you can still find a usable base unit to mount it on

The combine is junk. I bought the whole thing site unseen. One of those mistakes that comes as part of this biz. I do not about the 20 parts if you can tell me more the auctioneer can take pic's  It dose have the bin extention and I have the snouts and a tag axil not pictured

So, someone please correct me if i screw this up but bolting the corn head is one deal but allis had to add a kit to make it funnctional. There are a series of supports to stabilize the head. Then it it needed special cylinder bars and a curtain in the back of the concave. Somebody could bolt a stray corn head onto a junk 60 but if they didn't have the kit, its just a big lawn ornament. The fact that it has the big extender and the trailer hitch is probably a good sign.

It never ceases to amaze the kindness and generosity of the participants of this website. People really go out of their way to help each other for no financial benefit. Kind of the exact opposite of most web sites

Has the title ever been found for the Studebaker zip van?

Maybe I should have asked, was the zip van ever titled in your name?

Before bidding on this van I was hoping to check for the current status of the title. I would like to visit the DMV to see what kind of mess this will end up being since the Vermont loophole no longer works when titling an old vehicle. A bill of sale won't be enough.

Having the VIN number would help immensely.

I don't know about other states, but I am old enough to remember when motor vehicles didn't have a title in New York State. When you transferred a MV, there was a section on the back of the vehicle's registration that was signed by the seller, along with a bill of sale. Depending on when this vehicle was last plated, it might fall under that category.

Your local DMV may be able to answer some of your questions about that.

Maybe I'm lucky, but our local DMV is very helpful.

The auctioneer is back from vacation and has been here taken some pics which he is going to post on the auction web site. He did say that there were rasp bars and extra supports.

Thanks for getting the auctioneer to post more pictures of the corn head. You are correct, combine is junk but if somegot another base unit and had lots of time, corn head is definitely restorable

how is treatment going?

Posted By: pungobob
Date Posted: 21 Aug 2023 at 8:19pm
My friend I am so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. In 2019 my wife received the stage 4 diagnosis. She under went Chemo and treatments and in 6 months she was C free. Has been for 4 years.
I received my stage 4 diagnosis in November 2022, went through treatment and got my C free in June 2023.
It’s scary and nothing anyone wants to hear. None of us ever want to hear this news.
There have been sooo many advances in treatment of C, all types. Survival rates are much better today than they were years ago.
Put your faith in our Lord, listen to your doctors, follow their recommendations.
I pray you heal and recover to live life after C.
Prayers.

Thanks for the good wishes and prayers. I got my stage 4 three years ago and just broke my 60th treatment yesterday. except for eating for a couple days after I feel good. the big thing is the neropophy  caused by the treatment, my legs are numb fro m the nease down that's why Im selling down. Agen thanks for the prayer and if you have any questions about the auction please ask , prices are still low on most A-C stuff

Anyone have any info on how some of this stuff sold?

Posted By: dr p
Date Posted: 24 Aug 2023 at 7:17pm
About what it should. It was mostly parts quality stuff. Think 110 spreader brought 850, ehich with probably a fair price with two flat tires. Farmerzzz seems like a pretty nice guy. Think his stuff would have done better if he had the physical ability to get it a little more presentable. But with stage 4 cancer, he has more important things to worry about. Bought two disk plows for parts and a couple other odds and ends. 700 miles one way. Will spend more in gas than i did at the sale. Leaving tomorrow am after chores. Alley's milking so it will be me and the bulldog taking the trek

I picked up the 66 with corn head and the mm sheller. The gleaner F was my old machine and previously belonged to IlGleaner. Someone got a good deal on it. I was glad to see the Gleaner T bring good money. Didn't want to see it get scrapped. I would have liked to have picked up one of the wd pickers since I need the top of the elevator for mine, but oh well. Overall I thought stuff brought pretty decent prices for Mr. Dixon.

Yeah with 6 kids, truck driving job, hay ground to bale, paint jobs, and just daily life I really haven't had much time to get on here. But you'll probably see me more on here if I try to get this corn head set up and running on a different machine.

Farmerzzz,
We made it home with the mm sheller. It fit on trailer, bit was tight. I did forget to pick up the snouts for the cornhead and the axle. So I'll just have to pick them up when I get the combine. I need to get your phone number sometime so I can set it up with you to get the combine picked up.
Thanks again
Adam
