Thanks to all the experienced folks posting about the 7000 series tractors.
I bought a 7020 and needed  to get it ready to go for haying and bush hogging
but the pto would not shut off.The hints I picked up on here plus using the
service manual got me going. Many thanks!
When using a 7 foot woods rotary mower will I damage the pto clutch
if I don't have an overrunning clutch? What type or brand of clutch do you recommend?
After a couple of years with open station tractors I am loving the quiet cab
and extra convienience of the power shift.

If there is a brake on the pto will it cause excess wear if it is constantly
stopping that much spinning mass?

If you throw it in/out all the time, I suspect you sure wouldn't do the PTO brake any good. Best to have the engine at slow idle to shut down the PTO. OR, get an overrunning clutch on the mower.

I am looking for a clutch. A&I have 1 rated at 75 hp.Hopefully
that is stout enough.
