D15 is in shop sitting next to a CA. Bronze clutch bushing being put into both.

CA has a wick type contraption in crankshaft to lube it's bushing.

Does D15 bushing have something similar or does it run dry?

If you mean the pilot bushing in the flywheel, those are usually oilite bushings. They are made out of a bronze material that is soaked with oil and will last a long time.

Thats the one. The oiite part makes more sense than it being on there dry.

Was thrown off by the CA having a provision to oil it. Just wanted to check to see if D15 needed the same. If not, then no worries.

I usually pack a little grease in the pocket to help work into the bushing over time.

Same as GM used for ever?...probably changed lately. I know at least the 40's to the 80's

Short update:

When tested nekked, bushing slipped right on the shaft. But when installed in flywheel, ID is reduced enough it will not slip on. Shop manual addresses this and says ID may have to be honed slightly to 0.879".......or a couple thousands over the OD of the shaft. I'm told it needs to be a close fit, but also must spin free when you step on the clutch.

Same happened with both CA and D15. Just wanted to mention it for future reference for others to be aware of.
