Looks like it's my turn to host the Mid MO plow day, I'm looking at the first weekend in Nov. 11/06/10 that's on a Saturday. Get your "AC" and plow ready and come on over, We will plow for hour or two and then have lunch then plow some more. Call or PM me for more INFO.

My farm is about 25 miles East of KC Mo. All are welcome and bring a tractor and plow or just come and have a good time with us. Mike the balloon is a "high" to the fun bring it along. Gale said she will be here to cook and ride with you. lol

This is just a update on the ground prep. I brush-hogged the corn stocks down and will disc them today and Friday so we can plow them under on plow day.

I got the two front tires on the plow and am waiting for the tailwheel tire and tube. The old plow has been sitting in a fencerow since the late sixties but everything is in good shape. I am going to shine the shears and moldboards with a wire brush however I have a MRI next week and have to wait until thats over. The plow ain't orange but it takes BIG Orange to pull it. I will be happy just to make one round to say I did, my grandfather was the last one to turn dirt with this combo fifty or so years ago. I'll post a picture of it later and look forward to making some pipe music.
I do believe I might have pinched the tube on one tire.
This may require a gas can on each end and one in the middle depending on the length of the field!

Don - assuming work lets me come and weather lets me bring the balloon it will likely be just Lucas and me. I had some bad luck tonight, The tail wheel tire had a little tread separation. So I'm going
to the tire shop and get a new tire and tube, man that will cost me. lol

Well guys I didn't think the old 45 had that kind of HP to just rip the tread right off the tire. I will look at the duct tape, spray foam fix but I'm thinking a new tire might make the long range plain for this plow look better on paper. I think the DOT needs to place a expiration date on tires! lol

| I started tuning up my old plow yesterday, it seems that I am going to need to try weights on the WC. If I get to a soft spot it can dig to China pretty quick. I am thinking that a pair of 161's will help. I started making the weight clamps yesterday and will finish this morning and will give it a spin and see what happens. I have almost got the plow adjusted where I want it. Dave. |

Rick, Looks like we will have ten tractors here. and a lot of good AC friends too.
Dave I'm thinking (and you know we are all in trouble them that happens) That a set of weights on the back might help.
I picked up a new tire and tube today spent a ton on the old plow at $ 33.50 for the pair. The good thing is it's back on the ground and that makes three plows ready to go.
and I have three more plows just in-case.

I'll keep Bob in low gear so he don't out plow the rest of us. lol You guys are putting all that weight on your tractors so I'll put the lead on two of mine in the morning. I can't have the old 45's out there spinning and you boys just plowing away. Rick if you use the fork lift to install the weights your back will thank you. lolI hope all you guys can make it Sat the cooks are getting a lot food ready, Gale is going to buy out Walmart and Dad is making two or three pies and boys his pies are the best!! So if you don't come then I will just haft to eat all that food myself. So come hungry!!

No matter what kind of day you're having or what else happens, you can always count on getting a smile from George when you see him.
Don, the old plow has artheritis, broke the first trip rope I used, now only the land side will drop. I'm hoping that PB Blaster works as well for plows as BenGay does for fingers.

OK Harvey, I'll keep Mike on dry land (We have not had enuff rain to get stuck here) If mike or myself gets all hung-up and need pulled out I will use one of the WD45s. lol
I don't know why the danged old green thing is still here, I have not had it running for two months now.
I will have the plow day on Sat. the weather man said it will be sunny but a little on the cold side at 55* for the high. I ordered 65* but I think my order has been back-ordered.

| Well...I'm all loaded up and ready to go to the farm and do some plowing,Don. I should be at your place about 9:30 tomorrow morning at the latest,since I'm leaving home at 6:30. I would leave earlier,but I hate to drive in the dark the way it is. LOL! I'll see you guys that are coming to the plow day in the morning then. Take care and have a safe trip in. Rick |

| So,Don...is there going to be someone (hopefully several people) taking pictures of our Play Day...or...I mean Plow Day? I'm sure there will be. I know Sherry will be taking pics and I figured maybe Gale would too,if she has any time to take them. I know her and your dad have worked hard getting things together,along with yourself. It should be a very nice time with meeting new people from the forum,playing on the tractors in the dirt and good food. It can't get much better than that. Rick |

Well Rick I think Gale will be the camera operator/ cook and all the rest of them kind of jobs for us. lol Gale is hoping Sherry and the guys wife's come too. I have had a lot of calls saying they are going to try coming tomorrow so we might have a good crowd here. I just set-up one more plow just in case we needed it. That is four plows ready to go and there's two left outback. See you guys tomorrow. Well Dusty If you load up and get to the road right now you can be here on time. lol
Rick I got the fourth plow out today and made a round to shine it up a little so I have one ready for you and one for Rick C. Mike called me tonight to let me know He is going to get off work this weekend and will be here too. It looks like I will have somewhere around 25 to 30 here for some part of the day. Gale will be busy cooking all that food!

| I'm not loaded yet, finally got the plow to go into the ground and immediatly broke both springs!!! Then, the A decided it didn't want to play anymore, bet I had to start it a dozen times just to get it back to the shed. Fixed the fuel problem, plow isn't wanting to lift too well but may get it worked out. As long as everybody is taking still pictures it'll look ok, won't be so impressive with a movie camera! |

Rick I think we all needed this day to get together for some fun, I know I did. I'm on my third cup of coffee now.
