Looking to put this engine together that I acquired that came out of a D17.  Looking at the head before I take it to a shop.  Seems it is warped (my straight edge may not have been the straightest)  took about .008 of feeler to grab the edge.  It was high around cyls 3&4.  Again, my straight edge here at the house was a carpenters square.  Measured the distance between injector bores and head gasket surface was .162 (#6 inj) and the rest were .170-.173.  Can it be milled any more without getting too thin?

They won't take that much off. Just to where the gasket surface cleans.
If they go that much, your going to have piston and valve clearance problems.                                   MACK

Ok thanks Mack, this will get that set of fire rings I bought from you.  Will probably be calling you for another set.
