went online to see who has stock and a 'deal' on gloss black enamal paint ...
NO ONE !!!

Yikes... a CDN 'gallon'( really a USG in disguise...) is now north of $100 !!!

I was expecting $20 per US quart....

that's the bad news..
good news is NO stock, so I just saved $100 !!!

so... my refurbished trailer running gear(axle and springs ) will be 'safety yellow'.

Automotive grade paints here are far more than $100/gal, PPG makes Shop Line and other product names is just under $1000/gal currently where when oil price was higher was well OVER $1000/gal.  That does include hardeners/activators or other additives, just not reducers or cleaning agents as Enamel Reducer or Lacquer thinner.

All paint anymore that is worth anything is Epoxy or Two part as the old Marine finishes, they are just as pricey.

All prices, everywhere give me sticker shock.  Been going through stuff I've bought at auction, over several years, I use any paint of any kind that is salvageable! I take an ice pick, to rattle cans, put a shop rag over the top, poke hole, bleed off pressure, then pour paint into a coffee can and paint with a brush or roller...  For the little painting I do, anymore, it has served me well.Wink

I was looking at batteries at TSC the other day, all of them were $149 or more, last year some were $70 on up.  I've been getting them at Costco lately, most are still under $100, but not by much.
