I hope someone can settle an argument. We were having a "discussion" on our way home from the MD GOTO Saturday and we have a roto baler question. Was it necessary to back up to eject the bale (every bale) on any model roto baler?

No, early models just required a stop.  Reverse was never part of the process.

That is me holding the crank in the clutch to make the pickup chain work.  This baler sat for the last 30 years outside. Its amazing it worked as good as it did.  I had very little time to get it ready and no hay to test it on until the show.  I'm also grateful for all the support. and that no one got hurt.

The universal answer to all questions is yes, how much do you want to spend?
