What would be your BEST EXCUSE ,Other then WORK ,Health or Wife telling you you can't GO to a GOTO 50 - 100 miles of home. I never had anyone keep me from going to any even when it was 1200 miles away .

Not much would stop me from going to a GOTO. Being that close to home any allis chalmers collector should support it by attending.

I haven't been to as many as I'm sure some of you fellows have, but I've been to a few. In 2025 it's only going to be about 20 miles from me. Lord willing, I'll be at that one for sure.

Like Chuck said, I was told it's going to be in Penfield, IL in the fall of 2025. They have a show every year with different makes of tractors being featured. It is usually a week or two before the Half Century of Progress show in Rantoul.

Just to set the record straight!!, Maryland Steam and Mid Atlantic Allis Chalmers are hosting a GOTO ALL are welcome to attend and display. We would never discourage anyone that is affiliated with our clubs or any other clubs to not attend. However civil obedience is required. Their are rumors that another club is telling their people to not attend. I believe this to be true and based on one persons petty foolishness.

I was wondering where this post was heading. There was a group around here that had the attitude that it was there way or the highway. When a friend goes to shows he has a few different colors, so the one year he had a few of the feature color he always likes to park everything together because he would sit by his display during the show. He ended up parked out back with the non feature tractors. He wasn't so excited about going back the next year. I think their turnout suffered. Their are other people on the show board now.

My thoughts exactly, Steve. In my neck of the woods there are just not that many AC's,,fact is there are not too many of any one brand so I do not even think about picking a particular brand,,,they are ALL Tractors of years past and I enjoy em all,,,,,

I heard some rumblings about this "controversy" at Hutchinson last summer. It's sad that people are so focused on their own agenda, that they don't want others to succeed.
I plan to be there. Hoping a lot of you will be making the trip to the Madrid NY GOTO in 2023 !

Exactly, Best guess is what Tbone95 said. This one person was part of Mid Atlantic and didn't get her way. The big question is how far will she go with this? I believe that when her following figures out what her real motive is her following will dwindle.

No logical goal, just want to feel superior and important. Probably got in some ridiculous spat with somebody, and thinks everyone should follow suit.

Some clarification here, whether it amounts to anything or not:
The CLUB being pointed out is not telling anybody not to do anything. It is however the clubs view that they will not be present as a group at the GOTO in Maryland because of a previous disagreement. That said, anybody can go and do whatever they want. I will be there.
Stirring this crap is not making anything better. Some of us just want to enjoy our tractors and friends, and deal with this petty mess less.
One person at the meeting made mention of this club holding their own GOTO one day, I personally don’t see it happening but what an opportunity it would be to be a part of such a thing.
Like I said, this won’t amount to a hill of beans, but there it is.

This is why I DON"T belong to either club. Clubs have a tendency to have a bunch of petty infighting as well as behind the scenes politics that goes against the general consensus of the group as a whole, always has been and always will be. I believe that this thread was started just to stir the pot. With that being said: I will be there Thursday to deliver anything sold that someone wants brought to the show. However otherwise, I can't be in two places at once and other commitments require me to be elsewhere other days. Anyone the want to stop by after the show on their way home to pick-up anything or look around is welcome Sunday or later.

Va Allis. I have to agree. But i also felt that the way it was brought up in the meeting was very distasteful. I also feel it may have left the wrong Impression to some. (Myself included)
I also want to say I'm happy with being a member of this group. With it only being like 3yrs old. i see it having the opportunity to become a much bigger stronger group, and would hate for the Quarrels of a few in the group towards 1 person hinder the growth of this group.
My plan is to be in attendance of the GOTO to enjoy the tractors & make new friends.. just as it is my goal in being a member of this group...
Also if these GOTO are as big & grand as Im to believe, WE need OUR group to move on from this so if ever given the chance to help hold other GOTO we can...

I always have supported any "GOTO" and will continue until it becomes a club. The attendees of the gatherings are, in my opinion, some of the greatest folks in the antique farm equipment collecting society. I have so many friends in North America due to meeting them at gatherings and banquets that it humbles me just thinking about it. It also takes a solid club with a devoted group of AC fans to put on a "GOTO" and it definitely don't happen overnight. Thanks Joe, I'd be honored to attend a "gathering" down your way sometime, Scott
Ps A special thanks to Hidie and Dave period.......

First off this is meant to be a fun jab at this persons foolishness. It all began when Maryland Steam came to Mid Atlantic Allis Chalmers and asked us to Cohost the GOTO. A motion was made and second and the a majority vote was taken. After this meeting the secretary came to me and said " I'm Not happy about this GOTO thing" My response was to try to find out why, and what we can do to make her happy with the decision. I had absolutely no luck no mater what I said. She made it her mission to get the decision reversed. When she couldn't do that she made it her mission to remove me from the club. When she couldn't do that she hatched a plan to close MAAC and open a new MAAC that would not include me. Her anger peaked when she discovered that she couldn't us the MAAC name. Without the board of directors meeting on the subject Her and her new MAAC president called a meeting and Voted to " disassociate from the Mid Atlantic AC club". They then organized a new club and motions were made and passed to transfer ALL of the MAAC assets and records to the new club. The MAAC board of directors met after this and asked me to come back as president and I as well as a ne secretary were allected into office. The Treasure did not give away the MAAC funds. The only assets the club lost were the items that she did not return. MAAC is now back and we are happy to not have the hostility that she brings to a tractor club. I have to add that I know how Donald Trump felt when he was president as they treated me the way democrats treated him. We do NOT need politics and hostility in tractor clubs. I hope to move on from this and PLEASE come and enjoy our GOTO. I promise NO hostility.

Dave, my post were intended to somewhat explain how the "GOTO" process works. I admire any club that signs a contract to put on one of the most desirable shows there is in my opinion. I'm truly sorry this club has had this problem but there seems to be issues in every club. As I said or meant to say ,it takes solid and devoted club members to pull off a good gathering. I wish you guys the best show possible and if I'm able I'll be there but with recent back surgery and then ran over by an angry 600lb heifer creating a need fur a quick shoulder repair its questionable. To answer Fred's question now with everything on the table it would take more than a burp in a club to keep me from visiting my dear friends associated with a gathering 50 miles or 500 miles. Scott

Thanks Scott, What I should add, Maryland Steam is the main Host for the GOTO, They are a large and well established group and are committed to This event. Also Md Steam has great resources and a large show ground. MAAC could not host an event this size without them. They came to us. I am humbled and excited to have this opportunity. I have since gotten involved in Md Steam and found their leadership to be second to none. I am making a point to go one on one with everyone in the area that has an Allis collection and I am finding that Most of them are on board. I believe in the end we will only be missing a few people. I pray for your healing and hope you can join us.

I was an outsider at the time and could see it all without someone telling me. That said, if you want it to go away. Stop bringing it up and spreading the story. I was in attendance at the hostile takeover. I’m not privy to the before or after goings on. VaAllis1990 has made the most important point about this sad split. Drop the finger pointing and move on with your favored Allis Club. Enjoy the Allis equipment and your chosen club’s members.

That's the problem with some tractor clubs because there are usually 2 or 3 people that want complete control and after things are said they change the wording to make it suit. Why cant a club just get together with friends and have fun events and keep the political stuff out? This ruins it for everyone.

I will be at home Getting ready for the Md GOTO. BTW we will be having our banquet at Friendly Farms Saturday September 17 Send a PM to me for tickets Their Food is awesome. My wife and I tested it.
