Is the intercooler on these tractors air to air or water to air. I am assuming water to air. There are two plugs on the side of the intercooler and I have taken them out and they are both dry. Is that they way they are supposed to be? Have had the tractor for just over a year.

Water cooled. There is a finned set of tubes running front to rear. It is divided in two on both ends so water goes through it,turns the corner and comes back to the front.

So I should get coolant to come out of those plugs if I take them out? My coolant level is all the way to the rad cap but it was low in the spring. It was leaking a bit out of the block drain plug but I think that I have that stopped now.

No. The coolant is inside the "radiator" that is inside aluminum housing . The square block at the rear is the cover for the back end. Those plugs are in the air side of manifold. The thermostat housing is bolted directly to the front of the cooler section.. Why did you remove plugs?

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if I had an air pocket that prevented the coolant from getting where it was supposed to be. Did not know what the plugs were for so removed one and it was totally dry behind which apparently is supposed to be that way. I thought they may be for releasing air if one changes the coolant. Replaced plug before running tractor.
