Mom got a call from the rest home this morning. Dad fell. She told me that they took him to the hospital so I went out to see him. He has dementia and will be 88 years old on the 24th. When I got into the emergency room to see him, he was very tired but still happy to see me. He was very confused as to where he was and had no idea why he was there. He could not remember falling. They took x-rays of his hip and fortunately nothing is broken. So all would seem right, but then we got another call when he got back to the rest home. It seems the rest home tested him when he got back, and now he has Covid. So now mom and I are quarantined for 10 days. That sure changes plans for Christmas. If you can spare a prayer or two, our family will take them. Stay safe out there folks.

Unit 3 you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. As our parents age into their last years life becomes more difficult for everyone in the family.

I’m sorry to hear this!
Last year my wife tested positive for Covid the Monday before Christmas so we both had to isolate. I tested positive on Christmas Day! Not a good experience! This year I find it really hard to get excited for fear it will all come crashing down!

Prayers for you and your family; hope all goes well. You may need to postpone your Christmas celebration for a while but we can really celebrate Christmas all the time. Could never understand why there is so much validity put in those covid tests when they can be wrong either way.

goodness sakes stay carefully. The county where we are at seems to be ground zero for the new variant. Cornell is expecting 2000 positive cases (that is correct) by Wednesday. They are not letting anyone leave the area on public transportation that tests positive. A lot of kids are not going to be let home for winter break for a while. Typical teen age behavior. High IQ but no common sense.

Tim, you have your entire family in my prayers.
My Mother (94) is getting worse with her dementia.  It is such a sad thing for everyone involved.
Mom fell back in 04 and broke her hip.  It is a hard thing to get through, but she did it with a lot of 'orders' from me to do her exercises.  Glad your Dad didn't break anything.
There's nothing wrong with having Christmas in what ever month or day you want to do it.  It's really only the little ones that are affected by it not being THAT day.  Since you and Mom are being quarantined, celebrate it with each other!

Unit3, you and your family are in my prayers. In times like these you could perhaps ask a nurse to set up a video chat with your Father so you can all be together that way.
