Hello, I purchased a 8070 that the previous owner managed to twist the front left u-joints out of.  When this happened, it took out the axle shaft bearing and associated seals.  It also broke off the u-joint bolts in the axle shaft.  I started calling around looking for the axle shaft and was told there are two different shaft diameters.  One for the standard front axle and one for the "no-spin" axle.  Being new to this, how do I identify what I have without pulling the axle shaft.  There is a data plate on the front housing, does this tell me anything? I know I have to pull the existing one anyway but I am trying to get the parts headed this way while work continues.  If you are going to ask why I am replacing the axle shaft, the previous owner tried to make the repair.  What he did was remove the u-joint assemblies so he could drive the axle shaft out till it hit the hub (he didn't remove the wheel/hub assembly).  He then tried drilling out the broken bolts from the back side.  Needless to say, he couldn't get the angle on the bolts and drilled into the threads.  He then drove the shaft back into place, put the u-joints in the floor board and sold the tractor.  Thanks for the help.

The data plate should have a model number and a serial number. One of those numbers should have an N stamped behind it to signify it is a no spin.

Don't know if I did this correctly (supposed to be a pic).
I don't see an "N" but of course, they couldn't be bothered to put a little Vaseline or tape over the plate when they painted.  Thanks for the help.
