Does anyone know where the serial number is on an Allis-Chalmers model 284 rotary cutter?

I would guess it to be in the same general location as the 160, 172 and 184. They are on the top of the left hand "rail" about 10" back from the front of the machine. I see the 284 has 4 rails, it might be on the inner left rail. A flashlight at night shining parallel to the surface helped me find mine.
