615 backhoe was run out of diesel and cranked quite a bit since the operater didn't know what was wrong. Now it is filled and primed and when cranking, once per evolution it is spraying a fog of diesel between the injector pump and block I cannot see a hole or crack and thought I remembered it doing this before. Is it a vent?

Jim, make sure that all the injector line bolts to the pump are tight, some have steel or steel/nylon washers, if you disassemble them, make darn sure that they are back where they belong, by not having the washers in the right place you can run the banjo bolt in far enough to seize the pump and twist of the drive shaft, just a word of caution. You might have to crack open the lines at the injectors to bleed the system. Good Luck Tad
