1969 Allis Chalmers Mower - $400 (London Ky)It's in my backyard is this worth the asking price? How big is this mower? Can you tell me some about it. Got a 1969 Allis Chalmers mower 4 sale.Complete mower with deck.Motor is a 10hp BRIIGS&STRATTON cast iron block.Only thing missing is the side panels that say B-210.Other than that it is complete.Two new tires on back.Has been sitting all year.Has the generator charging unit,And a newer seat.This is a monster mower.Just dont need it.Interested call 606-260-0923.Or send me an email.THANKS

| Doesn't have original seat. Other than that, doesn't look too bad. These tractors are tanks, just liek anything else AC put their name on. It is very simple to service and maintain. Don't think the 10 hp is underpowered either. It will do more than one of the big-box mowers with a 20 hp motor will do. That old Briggs cast iron block will run forever, and it's easily rebuildable. As the old saying goes, they don't build em like that anymore. Take a look at it. Put your hands on pulleys(with the engine off, of course), shafts, and other moving parts to check for wear and loose motion. That will help you determine how much work will be needed to get it going right. Starter/generator is rebuildable, so it can be fixed if it's not working right. Parts are still available. Supported by it's manufacturer Simplicity. Deck spindles can be rebuilt using common bearings found at industrial/bearing supply houses. I'd buy one. P.S. there are also a lot of implements that can be used by those, like sickle bar mowers, scrape blades, etc. Nice little tractors for a small garden. |

| Just noticed the footrests seem to be missing. That knocks the price down a few dollars. I would certainly mention that. Replacements can be had, preferrably used, but not sure at what price. Go take a look at it, especially since it's close. |

The footrests are indeed present, the B-series had small foot pegs. They are just hard to see in the pic. The covers are gone off the 42" deck. I have two of these B-210's. They are good tractors. Prices will vary widely. In my area $400 would be steep for something in that condition but I don't know, it may be harder to find them in Kentucky, thus a higher price. I'd make hin an offer that i thought was a little low, then work from there. Don't do it over the phone. Go over there, so you can point out what it needs in person. You may get it for a good price. |

| If it was that close to me it would be in my garage already. But that was the mower that my dad had when I was a kid and the first lawnmower I got to use, so I am partial to that model. I think my dad's was a HB212?, I can't remember the model exactly. It did have hydrostatic and hydraulic lift. The only reason my dad got rid of it, was he got a newer AC 716 which he is still running. They do have tons of attachments for them, mower, grader, snowblower, sickle mower. My dad's also had a rough cut mower that fit on the front like a snowblower and had four or five blades that swung out from underneath and out in the open. It was a dangerous thing, but worked good for clearing weeds and light brush. He sold it to a friend of mine who parted it out. If I would have known that I would never have put the two in touch with each other. |

| Look the deck over good to see if it's rotted out.First place to go is usually top/front/middle area where front height adjustment fastens.Can still buy new housings but more than $400. |
