5 to 7 grand is what I have been seeing at sales the last couple years . Like you said tires and condition determine value. If it has a narrow front the sky is the limit. Watched a clean nf 170 gas bring 13,000 at auction 2 years ago.

    Howdy Fred,
You like this one! I bought a 170 gas with loader, 2100 hrs . It was used to pull a small drag in a horse arena. Fellow never checked fluid levels. One day tractor would not move but, started just fine. It sat for a while after a dealer was to come pick it up for fixing. He decided to sell this 170 to get it off the arena. And I was there quick. Had to winch tractor up trailer after jacking rear wheel up with dollies. I mean rear wheels all locked up! He left the pto lever on which was in the forward position so he would not hit his knees on the lever. So the pto ran all the time he had this tractor from new! Well the pto housing seal when out and that is the lowest point to drain trans and rear end. When I took it apart their was not an ounce of fluid in tranny or rear end. All the bearings in both were gone! Here the part I said you like. I fixed this tractor with all Agco parts and painted it and all new rubber. I advertised it for $10,000. I still got the tractor and glad no buddy stepped up to the plate!

Thanks Kurzy

Over they years I rebuilt a few rear ends because  PTO seal leaked  enough oil to lock up pinion bearings .Done to ED 45's that rear plate leaked out enough oil to lock up pinion.
Common problem with the just run until they stop guys .

170/175 are a good sellers. They built upon the great reputation D17's had with their great service hrs-to-repair hrs ratio! Seems like anyone that has a 170/175 doesn't want to sell them or part them out cause they are such useful tractors! My 170 gas loader tractor is fabulous! Only thing that could make it better is 4wd!
