great recipes for Banana Nut Bread,,, The wife is always askin for me to buy some nanners,,,but she never eats all the ones I get so they wind up gettin thrown out as I'm not a big eater of the bananas. I've gotten into it with the dude at walmarts produce cause he tells me thet I ain't susspossed to cut apart the bunches of bananas which are usually 6 to 8 ina bunch,,,, I'll usually just hang around till he leaves and then go cut a bunch in half and get bout 3-4 nanners and walk off,,,,!!!! ![Wink Wink](smileys/smiley2.gif) Last time I bought a premixed box of the makins for banana nut bread but it did not come out for chit!! I try to eat a nanner once a day, wife will not have them. Keeps the cramps at bay(potassium) where I do like the taste of them. Know how are shipped, as come into port are green as a maple leaf in May, the shipping containers are then Gassed with a material that starts the ripening process, much like enclosing a green onion with a ripe one, and the end result is have one week as start to turn yellow to have them gone.

Dang Joe, that Wally World guy needs something to do. Locally they sell them by the pound and you can buy just one if desired. ![Confused Confused](smileys/smiley5.gif)
If we get some going over ripe they go in the freezer . think the peelings cone off first. Banana nut bread is the wife's chore here. I am the pumpkin bread specialist. Got a killer recipe for pumpkin bars. ![Wink Wink](smileys/smiley2.gif)

Joe I don’t have a recipe either but if they start to turn, Jenny puts them in the freezer. When there’s say 5 or 6 she puts them in her food processor. They come out smooth and creamy. Makes healthy tasty ice cream. You and I need to eat one or two a day for leg cramps.

I like banana bread but not banana nut bread. Never have liked to eat any kind of nuts; cashews, peanuts, pecans, etc. Hog nuts are good though!

0 degree frozen ripe pealed nanners are great pop sickle style snacks. wrap a folded paper towel around one end for a hand hold and enjoy nibbling off little bites before they thaw out . I always have a few frozen ripe to over ripe to nibble on . got so I don't eat banannas unless their frozen solid.
