I am in need of a PTO for my '88 C70.  Last winter using parts on hand, I installed front and rear hydraulic winches using a Chelsea 381 PTO intended for an IHC application to drive a small remote mount hydraulic pump.  The IHC gears worked but is not a long term solution, so I need the correct PTO gears, however there is no gear listed in the 381 book to mate to the Fuller FS4005B trans that I have.  My options are: #1 buy a new complete PTO #2 locate a gear for a different series PTO that will work in the 381.  If anyone can provide some input or has the correct PTO for sale it would be most appreciated.

Need to go to a Distributor for Chelsea and Muncie PTO, have them Look up by Application.  I got lucky and found one for my Allison AT540 that way.  For transmissions used in less than several year applications and over 20 years old the gear trains are already obsolete.  Transmissions still used are still built for as Road Ranger series or the Spicer 540 series.

FS4005 Discontinued in 1998.

The nearest Chelsea dealer is 50 miles away and I have no time during the day to go down there (have to be there in person to get anything done).  I have feelers out all over trying to locate a compatible gear.  It looks like one for a Chelsea 452 might work, awaiting confirmation.

Have you checked with Vander Haag's? Make sure you get it shimmed correctly. You probably know they make units for the left or right side of the tranny.
