I figure this would be the area to ask but can a Allis B, be repowered with an engine from a WC?

Anything is possible
But the 148/160 series of engines will bolt up to it. That would give you 40-50 HP

Say a D15 II engine was swapped in, would the ~500 RPM increase change ground speed much? And should the B drivetrain be able to handle it?

I thought the WC/ WD/ 45 motor took a larger bell housing ?   The Smalled D series D 10/ 1/ 15 will all fit.........

If the B had a rpm of 1700 and the D15 motor was 500 RPM more, that would be about 30%... so you might get 2 MPH additional ??

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

The blood-line of the "B" engine goes like this: Cubic inches of 125-138-149 and 160 cubic inches for the "small-block" A-C engine used in B-C-CA-D10-12-14-15.    The W-series engine line started in the WC-WF-WD-WD45 and is considered a "big-block" as compared to the smaller engine. Sure, if you make a smaller diameter flywheel and a 1/2" thick adapter plate for bolting the bellhousing/engine block together, it could be done. Then, there's the sheet metal. Then, there's the fact that if you desire to tractor pull it, you will be allowed a "courtesy hook" at best....no competition.
