I was watching our local morning news and they did a "snippet" on the next new tax- Covid Surcharge. The snippet showed receipts of all types of stores that had it plainly printed out that ranged anywhere from a flat $1.50 to a whopping 26% at a restaurant (a BBQ place in Chicago). I guess I will start looking a little closer at my future receipts Confused.

Libret**d centers with libret**d businesses, main reason I do not go to these type regions.   They are NOT doing that around here.

local law firm was going to charge me $250 Covid19 fee for extra time in bank on a $1000 bill.
THAT didn't happen... probably got the 'word' from the Ontario guv after I sent a few emails.
BTW the bank is physically 2 door down( <30 feet) and ,um, banking is done online, even cheques.

One should know better than to eat barbecue in Chicago. Now if they add that charge to hot dogs and pizza then you got a legitimate complaint.

I saw that on the news as well.  I thought it was acceptable if it was the fixed rate of $1.50 to $2.00.  I think anyplace that does charge it would be required to post a highly visible sign and also in the menu.  Lot's of those places are hanging on by a thread and they need help staying viable.  Especially small local businesses.  I would probably leave a bigger tip for the wait staff.

My dentist is adding almost $12 as a coved add on for gloves and mask that they were already wearing before all this crap started, I paid my bill after subtracting it from the total and received a paid in full receipt. I would support it as a $1 or $2 surcharge in a restaurant do to it not being their norm, but some of the others, I don’t think so

Here is an interesting fact.
Go to GOOGLE SEARCH.  Type in your favorite three digit numbers followed by the words "new cases".
Your numbers will be the same as the covid numbers.  Try several combinations and the results will be the same as your numbers.
Just how stupid do they think we are?
We are all being PLAYED!!!!  Wake up.  Get you head out of the sand or where ever.

The BLM was out local again last night and closed the freeway down for a few hours.Angry But I am not so mad I am willing to sit in jail, like the 20 year old honey that lead the protest did last night.

But I fully agree we are being played. But the Thomas Paine of are time has not come forward and and got are side out protesting yet, anyway.

IMO, this problem should be solved by the DOT, and if state DOT doesn't, the Federal should:

Post a news photo of a midwestern snowplow truck/trailer, with all three (the main blade, side-blade, and ditch-blade) down, on dry pavement, rolling along at 55mph:

If the road is blocked, we will clear it.

Son was promoted from head of maintenance to total purchasing agent for a nursing home. Masks cost them $2.00 per hundred masks.   Same ones Walmart is charging you $7.95 apiece. Total BS.

Hey... if you're goin' to Chicago, if you're going outside, you need to wear a mask, a helmet, and a bullet-proof vest.  In the city, there is NO social 'distance'...
