Where is the correct place to plumb it? I went from the block drain to the water pump and it won't circulate.

Been a long time, but if memory serves I went from the block drain to the thermostat housing. Dont remember if there was a plug or I drilled and tapped.

It's at about a 45 degree angle.

Goes from the bottom of the block to the thermostat housing on the near side of the thermostat. I used two short of rubber hose and a small piece of metal to get the block heater completely vertical. Ironic question for a 90 degree day

You are risking burning up the element, that way.  Proper way is to have it  in a vertical line.Wink

I always do have them vertical, but mine doesn't have an outlet on the thermostat housing. Thanks everyone for the info!
