RPM increase. You wouldn’t believe some of the things I seen done to those things. Wrapped that spring with string, wire ties, bailing wire. About anything to keep the spring from spreading. If you ever watch an AC at a antique pull and the driver never lets go of the throttle, probably has the governor spring tied up.

The early (1939) RC's had a different throttle/governor spring and arm as compared to the later models which had a spring/plunger arrangement. I had one of those old ones and the governor worked poorly. didn't take long to round up the parts to update it.

Change it over to like what a C or CA or D14 has. I left the arm that crosses over in front of the engine and welded to it to make it like a newer one. Changed the spring/plunger and arm that they attach to.
