Here's a shot of a 3 point conversion I'm working on resurrecting. This thing came on my Narrow Front WD45. It did not work well at all. The top-link bracket, I just could not make work. There are much easier solutions to the problem..... I went as far as cutting the thing apart and making a new center section before giving up and finding a snap-coupler drawbar setup, (the right thing to do). I got most of the parts stripped down and painted before giving up so it will look fairly good when done. When I bought the 17 this three pt. was one thing I wanted to do, if not to use it just to get it back together so it is usable and saleable. Not sure what way I'm leaning on that right now.

Edit; Checked my profile, says I joined in April of 2012 and I had that 45 before then. So this must qualify for a 'round tuit' project.

Since the 17's big job is brushhogging with a 5' Dixie Cutter that likes to keep kicking one latch or the other open, I just may convert it to three pt. Time will tell. I believe the conversion would be easy and could be undone easily.

Made a little progress today, pretty much ready to go I think. This thing has one piece that is an anti-sway link I presume, have no idea how it hooks up. Maybe pull it back off and do a little painting on the center section.

Interesting project, Mike. Looking forward to pics of the finished set up and maybe on how it works?
Thanks.
Dave

I had one just like it on a D17. Made by SpeeCo? You are missing the 2 braces that go from the 2 holes(top picture where fresh welds are) to one of the axle housing bolts on each side. They are what gives top link bracket strength.

Looks very similar to the one on my D19,you need to look at one of those for your sway
control and  chains to hold the arms a certain height.

What are you going to do for a drawbar?

Dave, Guys, my biggest objective with this project is just to make this into usable equipment. Good chance it will be with me at the Mo. swap-meet someday. I doubt if I will ever use it too much, if I need a three point hitch the 185 is my usual choice! Love that thing!

KyAllis, thanks. Wondered what those square holes were for, probably carriage bolts, will have to see about fabbing something up for that.

I have one more piece for this thing not pictured, I'm sure it's some sort of sway link but have no idea how it works.

WF owner, that is kind of a weak point with this hitch, I don't think it would have been that hard to extend the piece from the bell and have a good drawbar??

Didn't work on this too much today, plenty of other orange things around here to keep me busy. I did take a picture of the piece that goes with this thing that I'm not sure how it mounts/works.
