yeah, simple deck rework....so far it's been 1.25 HOURS and the old stairs are STILL there. Now a normal contractor, would take a sawzall with a 12" 'roughcut' blade and be done in less than 2 minutes....
AND a normal contractor, would install the rim joist first, then add the 10 'stub' or 'extension' floor joists and be done in less than 2 hours....
BTW ALL materials are on the jobsite....

I gotta go dig a hole or move ponypoop around, can't work in garage as 4 vehicles and a bigazz trailer are blocking it..

sorry guy I HAD to vent....

at least Shameless' machine is busted...
Jay

well at least the stairs are out, yeah middle of the yard, but OUT....

forgot to mention ,he took a DAY to dig ONE hole, 3+feet down, install a sonotube and 2 bags of concrete to set the ONE post...
Now a normal contractor would have kept post LONG to become a support for the handrail.
makes it strong and sturdy, tight ?
he cut it short, like UNDER the floor joist.... that was 4 dayze ago....
Now he's trying to find 4by4 here to make posts for railing....

yup...
trpl sigh....

Well Jay, here's one way to look at it. Even if he manages to buy the lot, if you are over 60 years old, more then likely you will be dead and long gone years before he even gets a foundation built at the rate he works....

Jay,
Happy Birthday! Would like to be able to make the situation into a positive one for you. But not sure exactly how to do that! That deck should look good stained!
There that was the best I could do!
 Good luck.
Regards,
 Chris

If there are no other complications, low birth weight babies usually 'catch up' in their physical growth. In later life, however, people who were born smaller than average are more likely to develop diabetes, obesity, heart problems and "high blood pressure due to Step Son Contractors in their life". You sound like my in-laws! They were ready to take into the well line that runs to our chicken houses so they wouldn't have a water bill

I think I came out on a better deal. I told them no to using the well and they settled on using the same ditch for both waterlines. In other words, I did a ditch for both of us. I didn't say it was a good deal
