I have a gallon or so (split amounts 3 different unmarked containers), that is gloss and/or semi gloss white latex. I have a ceiling to paint, but want flat white, I know adding water will cut down the sheen somewhat , but is there a better trick to converting gloss to flat? ------------- I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science. |

| Lower quality paints that aren't specifically made for ceilings can be pretty drippy - you might want to test them first. |

I would think adding the corn starch would also serve to thicken up the paint as well

I would just go buy some ceiling paint and forget the other stuff. You have to make sure the paint is all boxed together. You start mixing paints and it can be a problem down the road. Flat ceiling paint is cheap enough. ------------- Everything is impossible until someone does it! WD45-trip loader 1947 c w/woods belly mower, 1939 B, #3 sickle mower 1944 B, 2 1948 G's.
