I agree AC37, that is one of the best AC photos of all time, someone should make a poster of that one, id put it up in my living room. Wife would love it, LOL,  Indecently its nice to see that sign every time up on the AC museum in Manitoba, every person that drives down the Trans Canada hwy sees it.   anyone  know what happened to the sign on the other side?

While looking through Charlie's photos, this one blew my mind.
How do both motors manage to work togeather? My 1941 WC has a bad motor and I was thinking about someday doing something like a Detroit Diesel repower. I know that I have seen people put 350 Chevy motors in WC's but I love diesels. I WILL get that sound no matter what it takes and it would be neat to see a WC roll black smoke and sound mean doing it.

I would pull a tooth for a sign like this.
I heard that these signs were hard to find and expensive if they were in decent shape. If that is the case I know where a gold mine is. Over form where I live in London,Ky is the town of Somerset. There there is a New Holland dealership that we go to when the 855 needs a hard to find part. Aparently they were a JI Case dealership in the past and when you stepped inside you could tell it. Im not kidding when I say that there were signs, books, and everything else imaganable on the walls and behind the counter was an open door that was also full of old Case items. But that's not the best part. Being a man you know how nature manages to call at the worst times. So I went into the basement of the dealership to the bathroom and that's when I found the mother load. The whole basement was full of all the Case neon signs like the Allis one above except these looked as if they had never been used. The neon and the Case Authorised Dealer text was all in like new shape. Now if only I could find a place that used to sell Allis-Chalmers and was looking to get rid of their old signs. One can only hope.

The picture of the "Homesteader" - that man, that hat, those coveralls & boots, plus the small boy on his lap - same exact outfit my grandpa was wearing of the only photo I have of him & me(except on his Farmall). Woulda been 1957-58 - but WHAT A MEMORY!

Don, I know this is not about Allis-Chalmers but it just so happens that my papaw's name is Oliver. Better yet this November he will turn the big 70. When that day comes I think it would only be right to have his picture taken on this. Do you guys agree?

I like to look at "old" pics of "new" tractors...so Bruce(IA) pictures of his dads new 1954 WD45 caught me, as i was looking at them i noticed the name decal on the right side of the hood is not very straight....funny to see how they left the factory, and how fussy we are when putting them on now days!

What a great group of pictures!
Will try to narrow it down to a few.
My Gradfather running the WD and 66.  He bought both pieces new.  This was the first time the tractor and combine operated together since 1963 and the last time Grandpa ran the pair.

This one needs a little explanation.  This is me(believe it or not) driving Carlys Best's 6-12.  Carlys' father either bought this tractor near new if not new.  We lost Carlys a few years ago but his grandson has the tractor now.  I'm glad to hear it is still in the family!  As for the picture this was taken when I was 17 or 18.  Carlys asked me to drive his tractor around to give it some exercise.  Talk about a treat for a young A-C nut.  Good times.

I love taking pictures, I have hundreds to choose from, so its hard to pick just a few!

And here's one of favorites, taken a bit more recently.

Ain't that a shame Adam, you just can't get good help these days!LOL! I don't suppose you hung on to the Allcrop did you? I haven't seen a lot of bagger models, but there was an Allcrop for sale close to Pendleton Sc a while back. I still love the way that WD looks with the double seat on it. Awesome job!

8070, I have saved that pic, and may take down the Playmate calendar so I can have a place for it.LOL! That thing is all business. It just says "don't even think about trying to mess with me, i'll run over you and leave you in the dust!"
Is this one that you guys have, or are you wishing like me?LOL!

I would love to get some seat time in that thing, just to see how it felt. I got the chance to run a Cat 998B wheel loader a few years ago. That is an awesome feeling, when you can motor up to a 20" plus oak tree and just barely give it a little throttle to push the tree down like a little twig.

We are from Central Ill. That sounds fun to drive that Cat.

Those tractors from across the water are unique. I wonder why they do that instead of making them all look the same.

This is a great post. The pics are great!  I don't have any BIG AC's yet but here is my 1977 AC 710 with a 1 bottom plow

Here it is shown with a tiller next to one of my 1968 B-110's that I was using to shred corn stalks.

Here are some of my other AC collectibles

Here's some of the NOS stuff I've collected, I think they look cool anyway.

Nice looking stuff mower guy! I had a 1973 Sears Garden tractor with a one bottom. It did a good job, just like yours. Not bad if you're not in a hurry.

Terry, those little FD's are neat, or as Cartman would say,"Hellikewl!".LOL!

8070, the 998B was fun, not as much as the D9 I got to run for a bout 20 minutes when I was 18(think about Tim Taylor from the show Home improvement going "ah, ah, ah!!!). I would probably PAY somebody to get to run one of the D-11 "superdozers"! That would be a power trip!LOL!
