I am working on a 200 Allis, serial number above 4001. Pressure is 180 psi on both high and low ports. I can use brakes to stop movement with power director in either high or low. This does not effect pto running or power steering working. This is not a linkage problem, it has been altered as shown in repair book and is giving a full shift. What do I need to check next or is it time to rebuild the clutch pack ?

Pressure is very low. Should be over 300 psi. Check for a sticking pressure regulating spool and shim as needed.

180 psi will not hold any power director clutch... as stated up the pressure..

I tried shimming the p/d valve but it does not change the pressure. What would be another suggestion?

Shimming at the Power Director valve ?? The pressure regulator has four pieces: the spring.....the plunger......the spool......and I think there's floating slug that goes in the end of the spool. If all those parts are free to slide and the floating slug isn't missing, then you must have a bad leak internally ? You should also check the priority valve in the rear section of the hydraulic pump and make sure it is able to slide freely and isn't missing the orifice disc. What's the back story on this problem?? Was 100% OK fine until just recently?? or the owner just bought it and has figured out there is a problem ??

IN MY OPINION,, 200,s are the worst on Powerdirector clutch plates and O rings inside the PD,, be sure your running it at 1600 rpm,s , maybe a little more ,and your pressure is steady, what did you use for a shim ? Ive seen washers stacked in there with plates trying to compensate for an internal leak
