Hey all, probably a dumb question here.

On my WD45, it seems the clutch slips rather than the wheels spinning when I have an implement really stuck in the ground. (E.g. loader, tumblebug scraper) Sometimes the wheels spin, but sometimes the clutch slips. I don't smell burning lining, so I suspect the oil bath hand clutch.

Is my clutch going, or are there situations where the wheel traction can actually overpower a healthy clutch? What would be the best way to test the clutch(es)?

Thanks in advance!

If the pto is engauged and not turning when the tires are not slipping then the foot clutch slipping.

Both clutch systems can have issues. The hand clutch can be adjusted by taking out shims. I have not done this but lots of information on here about that.

Chris
