I just completely rebuilt my 1955 wd 45.new wiring harness new light switch(second one).I wired everything per instructions from the wire harness kit I got from brillman for 6 volt positive ground system.I had my generator rebuilt and a new cutout put on.The resistor in the switch glows cherry red and I can't get the system to charge I don't know what I am doing wrong any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.I redid the grounds to the dash panel thinking that might have something to do with it or the cheap light switch I had used I replaced the switch with a cole and hersee and it still continues to do the same thing I'm clueless

The brillman wiring instructions may be wrong, fallow the diagram  in your owners manual.

Is the F terminal on the generator connected to the switch?

IF you have the right switch this is the correct wiring:

First of all, those aftermarket 3 position switches are junk! If you're going to keep it 6V, put the correct 3 position switch in it. The correct one is the round Delco with fuse tower. Those aftermarkets cause many people headaches and burn up new wiring harnesses. (including my own harnesses)  I have no idea what Brillman's wiring instructions are, but I would go by a service manual or I can send you in the mail one of my color coded wiring diagrams to use. We have the correct OEM Delco 3 position switch in stock rebuilt ready to go if interested. Double check your wiring. Also, make sure your Ammeter is good. I've seen faulty Ammeters cause these problems also...

Agree with Steve, have saw Amp gauge burn into inside. Current has to travel through Amp gauge.        MACK
