Neighbor stopped in the middle of the road today to tell me that I need to get a life and do things the normal way. Hasn’t rained here in almost two weeks, high/mid 90’s everyday, looking at high 90’s all next week, so I needed to water momma’s flowers to tide them over. Don’t understand what the issue is, doesn’t everyone water this way (and get to play too!)

Gees Joe, you need to get a life. That's not the way the John's Creek crowd does things and until you get onboard their train you'll just be a deadbeat
Was his issue the tractor or his misunderstanding of gravity?

HMMM. I'm stumped here. I fail to see a problem that would elicit that reaction. Unless he was talking about the fact that Allis Chalmers in NOT SPELLED F O R D

He's jealous because he's out dragging a long water hose around, and you're riding under shade.

What's the barrel for? Just fill up the bucket and dump it. And to do it right, you drive to the nearest creek/pond and scoop the water up.

Joe, I made a waterer for former employer using a 250 gal tote with a spout out the right side and a spring loaded valve operated by a rope from the drivers seat. He would drive along row of shrubbery open valve, release rope drive up open valve. He had issues of mounting and getting off tractor, his tractor is the other orange.

I think it was more like, why on earth do you people own things like that, he’ll be wanting me to plant trees or shrubs one day soon!

Tell him planting trees and shrubs is not normal for you, so he'll just have to dig em in himself.

I used a 35 gallon barrel in the back of my rusty old Ranger to haul water to my cucumbers and potato plants. It was a bit slow coming out of the hose, but I did save the maters. Cucks died after a couple weeks, I guess I didn't get to them soon enough.

If he asks for holes to be dug just use the Briscoe Darling approach and tell him "nope, I aim to hold on to my position in the community"

Joe, I like your set up, saves on running a lot of garden hose. Your neighbor must have spent $$$ on an underground irrigation system and you showed him up with your ingenuity. Maybe you should try to get on his good side by taking your loader and getting a BIG scoop of litter out of Tyler's chicken houses and fertilizing his front lawn for him.

Joe, dad has a 800 gallon Better Built liquid manure spreader that will be up for sale later this fall, something like that for a "waterer" would definitely get the neighbors talking !!

And that stuff smells a lot worse than chicken litter!

How about a bucket of litter soaked in the 800 gallon spreader for a few hours? I doubt if you'd have neighbors left to complain.
Mama sure would have some pretty flowers though
