Hey guys I'm thinking about pulling my grandpa's WD45 in the antique tractor pull coming up in a couple weeks never pulled anything in my life do you have any advice so I don't look like a fool? Grandpa's has since passed but always complain that there was never any Alice Chalmers pulling so I decided why not.

Try to get it weighed, with you on it. Then add weight, in the rear, to get it close to the max in the class that your closest to.

Run 10 lb max in the rear tires and talk to anyone, in your area, that has pulled your track before, especially in the class to you will be in.

In true field stock classes, the drawbar is one of the most important things that is relatively easy to alter to make a difference. Check your rules and get your hook as close and high as the rules allow.

Make some brackets on the extreme front and rear to hold additional weight. 100 lbs as far forward as rules allow can make as much difference as 500 lbs. in the middle of the tractor.

Watch the track in the classes before yours and see where the best traction is.
