| My father is still using a 500 series planter and manages high yields per our county standards, sometimes over 225. Just had new sprockets made this spring for a goal of 250 plus, county average is around 130. These old planters can hang in there, so don’t let someone tell you differently. |

used an Allis 500 plate planter for years until I quit and rented the land out. Most accurate planter for population ever, if you can get well graded corn. Plants circles around a JD 7000 for population control. ------------- Most problems can be solved with the proper application of high explosives. |

I had a 330 Allis with 78 air units and I think it planted more accurate than my White 5100 does. If I could find another 330 but in 6 narrow close by me and in good shape I'd consider buying one back. | I've also got an 8 row 3-pt planter, and a lot of different attachments that will fit most of any of them. I did change the planter boxes to the taller fiberglass boxes instead of the plastic ones. and I have a set (2) of the new fertilizer boxes. never been mounted. |

I dont think I can find the article quickly, but I recall within the last 5 years a little "insert" within one of the major ag magazines (Successful farming, etc) that was sponsored by John Deere and Pioneer showing top 10 yields in each state, and of course if they planted Pioneer and harvested with a Deere, it was highlighted in green. The guy in Kentucky I believe had the highest yield in the state and has a 333 Allis planter. No green highlighting in his column... lol ------------- Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine. If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help. |

| The 24-row was a frame built by a company called CARMACO. A-C apparently teamed up with them on 12, 16 and 24 row frames. A ground driven planter unit was easy to hang on any frame and make it work. |

| There were several CARMACO planter bars in the late 80's that had WHITE Planter Units on them, plus fertilizer tanks. Not for sure where the local WFE Dealer purchased them from, but they held up fine. Both were 40' 16R30 units. HTH, Mike |
