Was checking my rain gauge and realized it didn't have enough graduations to read in tenths, this one is in eighths WHAT THE HECK!

C'mon JW, they are just trying to save on paint now.  You know, with all this tarriffs on stuff from China etal.  Gotta save a penny here, a penny there....

The posers er ah,,,,,powers,,,,that be have been shoving that mm crap down our throats for years now, so this is something else to just drive us nuts....

Just think of it as 1/8" of rain, or 1/4" or 1/2"....makes it even better!!

They made it for North America and since those guys up north of the 49th can't read inches anymore, had to have the other measurement.  Probably the guy who designed it never heard of 10's before.  Or maybe it was an old guy that made it and figured we couldn't see those tiny lines if it had 10's th.

but, but, but the 10's is what that "other" measuring scale is based on so why are they ignoring it for us...

Measuring in eighths is American.

Measuring in tenths is darn near metric.

re:

Interesting tidbit

EVERYTIME there's a 'be on the lookout for a bad guy' they posy height in feet and inches, weight in pounds.

EVERYTIME there's an 'amber alert', the kid's height, is , yes FEET and INCHES, weight in pounds....

so much for being metric up here, north of the 49th....
Jay

I was just poking ya a bit Jay.  The metric system probably does make sense but some things just don't change.  And when they tell someone they are 1.6 meters high we think they are a midget!

Out here in farm country we still use feet, inches bushels tons, etc
When the country went metric they left the country roads still at a mile apart!!Wink
