Have a leak up in the steering some where's. What's the best way to get in there. Through the dash or through the panel behind engine. Just thought I'd ask people that have done it before. thanks

Engine bay...nothing behind dash..put new shaft seal in my oozer.time cosuming but not hard

Side hoods off,cookie sheet behind engine off,three metric bolts out(17mm socket I think). I don't think you need to even take the hoses off. Swing the steering valve out to get at the spiral ring that holds the end cap and seal. Best to use the Agco seal kit,it uses some Teflon pieces.

Looking at parts book see there's seal kit and bearing kit, is it common for bearings to go bad

No. Is extremely rare for anything else to leak except at the splined end cap. No need to take the rest of the valve body apart.
