I really enjoy playing with the AC720 (in a large vegetable garden). I have used a plow, tandem disc, and cultivator. I sure do not intend to overload the hydro. Are there indications that one should be aware of when one has the hydro loaded to near max? Herb(GA)

As I understand it...you have 2 lights on the dash. One is engine oil pressure warning and the other is the hydro warning light. Lets say you are in high range and the hydro light comes on...it is getting too hot so you should shift down a range (or 2). Now is this telling you if you are junking your hydro...yes and no. If you persist with the high range and light on...you are not doing your hydro any good. Wish I could tell you more. Den

Manual shows 225 deg. F.

Operate the gear transmission in a slow enough gear that the hydro is nearly or fully maxxed out for whatever job you are doing. You wouldn't operate a combine in 3rd or 4th gear when in the field, would you ?? Same with a 616-620-720.

As Dr Allis said select the proper gear. The tractor really should never strain pulling any of the factory attachments. 1st gear for tiller, brush hog, sickle mower, snow thrower, plow, belly mower, front or rear blade. I have each of those and have never over worked my 720. Have never seen the hydro temp light come on. Belly mower and sickle mower can be run in 2nd gear if the grass isn’t over grown. 3rd gear is a road gear only.
