We got home at 5:00 today. I went to the shed to put foundation in bee hive frames. These frames are made of real soft pine. I ran out of 3/4" brad nails for my nail gun last week. I forgot to get them at the local hardware store and later in the afternoon we were going by Harbor Freight. So I got a box there. Guys these things are softer than the pine frames I am attempting to put together. They bend. They are a pain. Only thing I have gotten from H.F. that I have been completely disappointed with.

Have not had any problems with them. Most of the ones I have used are 1 1/2 or 2 inch for putting down quarter round. Must have been a real bad batch of them, I would take them back and try a different lot number.

Check your air pressure. Sounds like it might be set to low. If pressure is to low it won't drive nails all the way an thus leave bent end sticking out. If pressure is to high , it will drive nails too deep.

Guys these are not going into the wood. They bend and shoot off to the side. Air pressure is set at 70 lbs. That's where I leave it on my little compressor. Always worked before. I will pick up some from our local hardware store in the AM. Went back to the 1" Bostich and they work fine, just a smidge too long.

Tom... those nails are made from a big pot of whatever they brought in on the scrap ship... you can bet that if you were to do a metallurgic sample, you'd find everything on the periodic table in there. Mild steel is 29ksi, those HF nails probably have more steel, zinc, and lead in 'em than iron.
