Just cleaned mine as it had some rust particles in it . First time I turned it back on gas rushed in and it leaked . Second time the gas just dribbled in and no leak . So I'm thinking if the gas rushes in it ain't sealed . Even an old dog can learn something huh ?

Yep, you got it, the air leaks out first, then the gas...  I've gotten to be a pro at replacin the bowl and gasket, through the years, even gotta set of double punches, that cuts the whole gasket, in 3 strokes of a hammer...Wink

A new gasket always helps, the old one may be hard or have a nick and it is just about impossible to get it to seal. I have also seen the bowl have a little chip broken out of the top.
